Boerne Sedation Dentistry
No-Scares Dental Care
At Complete Dental Studio, we know how important sedation dentistry is to helping you experience the dentist in a comfortable, stress-free environment.
That’s why Dr. Alghadban and our team offer a variety of sedation methods so you can feel relaxed and at ease throughout your dental, orthodontic, or periodontal treatment.
What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry is a specialized approach that helps you and your family feel at ease during dental procedures. It’s natural for most people to experience some amount of anxiety during a trip to the dentist’s office. But for some people, any type of dental work is terrifying.
Whether you feel just a little anxious or outright fear about your next appointment, we have a dental sedation method that can help, including:
- Nitrous oxide
- Oral sedation
- Conscious IV sedation
Types of Sedation Dentistry
As an experienced periodontist, Dr. Alghadban knows all too well how important sedation dentistry is for you and all our patients from Boerne and the surrounding areas.
That’s why we offer a variety of sedation methods to help make you feel as comfortable as possible during your appointments.
Whether your next procedure will be periodontal treatment from Dr. Alghadban, orthodontic treatment with Dr. Vo, or a general dentistry visit with the dentist, sedation dentistry can help you to feel relaxed and at ease throughout.
Let’s take a closer look at the types of sedation dentistry at Complete Dental Studio.
Nitrous Oxide
If you experience a mild level of anxiety about your appointment or minor procedure, nitrous oxide — also known as “laughing gas” — can help you to relax.
Just as its nickname implies, this type of sedation can make you feel just a little giddy. Our team will administer nitrous oxide here in our office, and the effects wear off quickly, so you can drive yourself to the appointment and back home again afterward.
Oral Sedation
If you feel very tense or nervous about visiting our Boerne office, oral sedation is often a great choice. You simply take an oral medication before your appointment, and by the time you reach our office, you’ll feel completely relaxed and slightly drowsy.
If you choose oral sedation, remember that you’ll need a ride to your appointment, as well as a ride home afterward.
Conscious IV Sedation
This type of sedation may be necessary if you experience extreme anxiety or are frightened at the thought of having any type of dental treatment — especially complex procedures.
Conscious IV sedation allows you to remain awake during your procedure while feeling extremely relaxed. In fact, you may not remember everything that takes place while you’re under conscious IV sedation.
This method involves administering the sedation intravenously here in our office. You’ll be able to drive yourself to your appointment, but you’ll definitely need a ride home later.
Advantages of Sedation Dentistry
Smooth Cooperation
Sitting still during dental treatments can be a challenge no matter how old you are. Sedation dentistry promotes cooperation by easing restlessness and inducing relaxation. This allows our dentists to carry out necessary procedures with ease and precision.
Ultimate Comfort
We carefully select sedatives in pediatric dentistry to prioritize your comfort. These gentle sedatives minimize discomfort, sensitivity, and pain, creating a more pleasant dental journey for you and your family.
Efficient Visits
Complete Dental Studio values your time. With sedation dentistry, our skilled team can often achieve more in a single visit, reducing the number of appointments needed for certain treatments.
Not only does this save you time, but it also keeps disruptions to your child's routine to a minimum. Prioritize your family’s dental health with hassle-free and efficient visits at our Boerne office.
Stress-Free Environment
Dental worries shouldn't hold you or your child back from essential care. At Complete Dental Studio, we've crafted a stress-free environment for our patients both young and old.
Sedation dentistry transforms dental visits into calm experiences, ensuring your family feels at ease and cared for.
